Rev. Gerald Leland Berresford, 76, of Liberty Twp., died Monday April 28, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born July 27, 1937 in Darlington, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Martha Berresford. He was a retired veteran serving in the Airforce for 8 years. Gerald graduated from Bible Baptist Seminary in Arlington, Texas, in 1968. He was a pastor for a church in Dixonville, Pa., for 3 years and did many funerals and weddings. He served as a Deacon at Bible Baptist Temple in Campbell and was a member of the church for 29 years. He also was a minister of Christian education for 15 years at Christ Memorial Baptist in Warren. He retired from Fisher Body in Lordstown where he worked for 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Phyllis Creed whom he married September 15, 1962, children, Larry Berresford of California, Carol (Kevin) Masimore of Hubbard and Irl (Gloria) Berresford of Warren, six grandchildren, triplets, Melissa, John and Franklin Masimore and Mitchel Masimore, Gianna and Santino Berresford, and Aunt Alice Berresford. Funeral Services will be on Monday May 5, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4:00 pm till time of service at the Funeral Home. Gerald will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery with military honors.
