Rex A Martin

Rex A. Martin, 61, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. Rex was born May 28, 1954, in Youngstown, Ohio,the son of John R. and Shirley Yokom Martin. Rex worked at Trinity Industries for 22 years as a fitter. He was a 1972 graduate of Girard High School and a member of Twin State Auto Racing Club. Rex was a life long racer with a passion for designing and building race cars. He enjoyed success as a driver and fabricator on many levels in everything from stock cars to racing karts . Besides his mother, Shirley, of Girard, he leaves his son, Tobias L. Martin, of Girard, sister Cheryl L. Whorley, of Girard, and his grandchildren; Abby, Ryan, Emily and Mackenzie. He is preceded in death by his father and brother William Martin. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-7 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Rex will be laid to rest at Greenhaven Cemetery.
