Rhea E (Bilger) Perkins

Rhea E. Perkins, 85, of Girard, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, October 29, 2016. Rhea was born April 13, 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Myron and Olive (Pauley) Bilger. Rhea had worked for various retail stores as a sales clerk. She was a very active member of Gibson Heights Second United Presbyterian Church in Youngstown, where she had served as a deacon for many years. Rhea enjoyed watching any kind of sports on television and playing cards. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Jacqueline (Tom) Salerno of Youngstown, Jeanne Barker of Girard, John R. Perkins of Girard and Jeanette Perkins of Niles, sister, Viola Wymer of Struthers, grandchildren, John "Jay" Perkins, Jennifer Barker, Jessica Egner and James Egner and a great-granddaughter Jordan Pappa. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Perkins, whom she married March 7, 1953 and died October 23, 1988,  infant daughter Jeanette M., and her brothers, Donald , Chester and Walter Bilger. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 2nd, 11:00 AM, at Blackstone Funeral Home. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, from 5-7 PM and also on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
