Richard A. Conti, of Cortland, OH died in his home on June 8, 2017 from a short bout with recently diagnosed stomach cancer. Richard was born November 13, 1945 in New Castle, PA. the son of Lawrence and Della (Booth) Conti. Richard served in the Navy as a Seamen for 3 years. After an honorable discharge, he worked as a sales representative in the appliance industry for 30 years, until he retired. He finished out the final years of his life as part-owner of Sydney Candle Company, which he co-founded. Richard brought his family an enormous amount of joy and laughter at every family gathering, which occurred often. He loved watching Fox News and he and his wife, Jeanne were inseparable. His love for his 3 daughters, their husbands and their children ran deeper each year. Richard will be missed tremendously and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family forever. Richard's philosophy could best be summed up in the words of Paul, found in 2 Timothy 4:5-8. "But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you. As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have ought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. and now the prize awaits me-the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing." Richard leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Jean L (Watt) Conti and 3 daughters: Patti (Don) Harris of Ashland, Becki (Anatole) Olejnik, Debbie (Tom) Lynch, both families of Cortland.
