Richard F. Fagnano

Richard F. Fagnano, 89, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Richard was born June 4, 1928 in Niles, Ohio, the son of Andrew and Josephine (Perna) Fagnano. He retired in 1986, after 40 years, from Republic Steel. Richard served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children; Richard A. (Nancy) Fagnano of Girard, Janice Marion of Girard and JoAnn (Don) Crum of Austintown , grandchildren; Jeremy (Shawna), Ali, Joseph (Shana), Danyelle (Freddy), Brittany (Paul) and Andrea (Josh) and great-grandchildren, Aliyanna, Avery & Sierra. Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy A. (Scrocco), whom he married June 23, 1956 and died October 12, 2010, and his brother Robert Fagnano, and his sister Alice Helwig. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017, 1:00 PM, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, where family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Committal services will follow at Girard City Cemetery Chapel where Richard will be laid to rest next to his wife.
