Richard C Gibson

Richard C. Gibson, 73, of Girard, passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Valley Health Care Northside Hospital. He was born June 6, 1939 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of the late Roy J. & Theresa M. Akins Gibson.  Richard managed three funeral homes, a cemetery/crematory in California and moved to Girard to be with his late sister after his retirement.  He was past president of the Rotary Club of Sacramento Breakfast, past president of the Sacramento Area Funeral Directors Association and member of the Los Osos Valley Rotary Club. He is survived by his dear friend Joni Hall and her husband John, sister-in-law's, Rosemary Gibson of Milwaukee and Natalie Gibson of Vallejo, CA,and cousin, Gerald Ulrich in Missouri.  He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and five sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 16, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard with calling hours 11:00 am till time of service.
