Robert Campana Sr., 89, of McDonald, passed away on Monday April 4, 2016 at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. Robert was born July 21, 1926, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Donato and Rose DiSantis Campana. Robert retired from Trumbull Memorial Hospital from the maintenance department, after many years. He enjoyed walking, especially in the mall every day, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He is survived by his children; Bob (Deborah) Campana, of Liberty Twp., Nita (Tony) Russomano, of Warren, Gloria Campana, of Columbus, John Campana, of Safety Harbor, Fl., and Rick (Janice) Campana, of Columbus, his brother Dan Campana of Warren, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, the former, Annette Kauch, whom he married March 4, 1949 and passed away in 1989, sisters; Mary Natale and Edith Fancher, his brothers; Ray, Joe, and Ed Campana and his cousin Albert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 9th, 10:00 AM, at St. Rose Church in Girard, preceded by a prayer at service at 9:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Robert will be interred at Oakwood Cemetery with military honors.
