Robert Smith

Robert Smith, 60, of Girard, passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Robert was born in Ohio on November 17, 1960 a son to William and Mable (Parker) Smith. Robert was a 1978 graduate of LaBrae. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and Special Forces. Robert was an inventory manager at Regnex for many years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, driving in his convertible which he called Zippy, and doing work out in the yard which he called "play." He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, Charlene (Gray) Smith, who he married March 4, 2011; his children, Lacina Smith of Levittsburgh and Robert (Rachel) Smith Jr. of Niles, and Jason Hockey of Howland; and grandchildren, Kara, Elizabeth, Mark, Kaeli, Kyrah, and Jenson. Besides his parents Robert is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Celeana. Per Robert’s wishes there will be no services. Robert will be laid to rest at Girard City Cemetery. To any who were blessed with the opportunity of his presence, it is well known that Rob would do anything for anyone he cared about,  and probably even some he hardly knew. It is also well known that the love of his life, Charlene Smith, was truly blessed and spoiled like a queen. They have an everlasting, enviously special love; a love that will be fully pieced back together when she joins him in heaven.
