Roberto G. Duebelt, 59, of Girard, passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Roberto was born March 25, 1957 in Hamburg, Germany, the son of Walter and Ursula Duebelt. Roberto was a 1975 graduate of Niles High School. After graduating, he played football for West Virginia University and majored in criminal justice. He worked for Tamarkin Trucking Co. for 38 years, as a truck driver, retiring in 2015. He had also owned and operated a lawn service and loved working outdoors. Roberto was a professional boxer, had a black belt in karate and enjoyed playing golf and listening to music, especially the blues. Roberto was nicknamed "BamBam" and he loved answering everything with "Yeah Baby”! He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former, Geraldine "Jay" Picierro, whom he married May 30, 1981, his daughter, Lena "Bear" (Jess) Enyeart of Girard, son Roberto B. Duebelt of Howland, his father Walter and step-mother Paula Sue Duebelt of Andalusia, Alabama, brother Steve (Lisa) Duebelt of Alabama and his mother-in-law Lina Picierro of Girard. He is preceded in death by his mother. He loved his family, neighbors and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 21st, 1:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Roberto will be interred at Girard City Cemetery.
