Ronald M. Drabiski

Ronald M. Drabiski, 84, of Columbiana, OH, passed away peacefully Friday, March 28th, at home with family by his side. Ron was born in Youngstown, OH on August 21, 1940, a son of the late Helen (Kuzlin) and Mike Drabiski. He was a graduate of Liberty High School and received his Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University. He started his career as a history teacher and then went on to work at General Motors until his retirement in 1996. After retirement, he went on to be a social worker. 

Ron was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Leetonia, OH. He enjoyed being involved in the community, serving as a Cub Master, Softball coach, Lion’s Club, Meals on Wheels and RSVP. He also served in various positions in church councils and community HOA’s.

He was an avid reader, enjoyed playing golf and cards, especially bridge. Ron also had a passion for being a producer, writer and actor for the Senior Productions in Florida.

 Ron is survived by his wife, Martha (Hecker) Drabiski, whom he married on February 8, 1964; a daughter, Melissa (Mike) Taggart; a son, James Drabiski; a grandson, James Drabiski Jr., a sister, Beverly “Cookie” Spicer, and his dog, Dotty. Along with his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Drabiski. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12th at 12:00PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, OH, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00AM until the time of service.
