Rose Marie Johnston, 79, formerly of Girard, passed away on Thursday November 28, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital. Rose was born on May 30, 1934 in Girard, a daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Vadino. She had worked as a private duty nurses aide for many years and was a member of St. Rose Church. She is survived by her children, Linda (Mark) Moss, Cheryl (Harold) Bennett, Roberta Johnston, Robert (Terri) Johnston and Michele (Robert) Bendon, sisters Madeline Fonce, Angelina Mikolaj, Clara Phillips and Regina Baker, brothers Carmen, Anthony and Joseph Vadino, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Johnston, who died December 23, 2003, sisters Irene Pinciero, Irene Candio, Marie Adams and Lucia Santangelo, and brother August Vadino., Funeral services will be held on Monday, 11:00 AM, at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 3-6 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
