Russell Greenslade, 79, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at Shepherd of the Valley. Russell was born July 20, 1941, in Penzance Cornwall, England, a son of Eric and Hilda (Sheriff) Greenslade. He received his Master's Degree at the Central School of Arts in London. Russell was an art and design teacher at the University of Cardiff, Wales, and moved to the United States in 1978. Russell was a remarkable artist with a talent for making extraordinary art pieces. In his spare time, Russell enjoyed sailing, reading, and traveling. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 45 years, Sue Anne (Warden) Greenslade, who he married December 27, 1975; his children, Abigail (Steven) Kraft of Medford, Oregon, Katie (Jon) Merrill of Girard, and Cara Greenslade of Girard; sister, Barbara Woolcock of Shropshire, England; and grandchildren, Ethan, Jacob, and Lucy Merrill, and Oliver, and Augustus Kraft. Besides his parents, Russell is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Williams. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 3rd, 6:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 PM until the time of service.
