Ruth (Smith) Burketh

Ruth Burketh, 96, formerly of Girard, passed on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Liberty Health Care Center. Ruth was born May 30, 1920 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of John and Catherine (Dillion) Smith. Ruth retired in from General Electric and also worked at Ravenna Arsenal and US Steel, as a Line Worker, for many years. She is survived by her two sons, William R. ( Ceci) Cook of Upland, CA., and Jack (Dianna) Cook of Girard, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great- grandchildren. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Abdul Burketh, her daughter Kathleen Burketh, and three sisters, Virginia Enyeart, Gertrude Wilson, and Jane Galloway.
