Ruth Lucille Krause

Ruth L. Krause, 103, formerly of Girard, passed away on Thursday September 1, 2016, at Liberty Health Care Nursing Home in Liberty Twp. Ruth was born July 13, 1913 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of the late August and Bernice (Higgot) Krause. Ruth was a lifelong resident of Youngstown until she moved to Girard in 1976. She graduated from Rayen School in 1932. Ruth worked for 28 years as a bookkeeper at Bond Clothing Store and also for North and South Side Medical Centers for five years. She retired in 1983 from St. Elizabeth Hospital after 12 years service in the Accounting Dept. She was a member of the Christ Church Presbyterian, Ladies Organization of the church, Member of Bethlehem Shrine #9, Eastern Star, Ruth Shrine #64, St. Elizabeth Retirement Group and Senior Luncheon Group of Christ Church. She is survived by her youngest sister, Evelyn Drevet of Girard, who cared for her daily when she became legally blind, and step-nieces and step-nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her sister Helen Nemecsek and her brother Nelson "Bud" Krause. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 6th, 4:00 PM at the Christ Church Presbyterian, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Ruth will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
