Sallie I Miles

Sallie I. Miles, 64, of Girard, died Tuesday November 29, 2011 at Northside Medical Center.  Sallie was born May 16, 1947 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Walter H. and Ann Radu Miles Sr.  Sallie retired from RMI in Niles in 2000 after working for 27 1/2 years as the secretary to the General Manager in the Engineering Dept.  She attended Capitol University in Columbus for 3 years as a Music Major and later attended Youngstown State University in the Engineering Dept.  She attended Trinity Lutheran Church, loved music, and at one time played for various churches.  She enjoyed car racing, ceramics and had a passion for animals.  She is survived by her brother Walter H. Miles II of Howland, niece Rachel Miles and nephew Matthew Miles, 2 great-nephews and 1 great niece.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard where visitation will be from 5:30 until the time of service.  Interment will take place at Girard City Cemetery.  The family requests any material contributions be made to the Animal Welfare League.  Visit www.blackstonesfh.com to view this obituary and to send condolences to the Miles family.
