Shirley Ann Friend

Shirley Ann Friend, 77, of McDonald, died Tuesday February 26, 2013 at her residence.  Shirley was born June 21, 1935 in Ohio the daughter of the late Otto and Bessie Fryfoggle Stauffer.  Shirley had worked for her daughter, Lisa, at Performing Arts Center in McDonald for 25 years and also for the Board of elections for over 25 years.  She was a member of Boardman Baptist Church where she had been a former Sunday School teacher, and also volunteered for the PTA and Band Boosters while her children were in school. She is survived by her children Elaine (Dan) Kovach of Liberty Twp, David (Audrey) Friend of McDonald, Nancy (Steve) Pruneski of Green, Oh., Mark (Jennifer) Friend of Hubbard and Lisa (Andy Timko) Friend  of Canfield, grandchildren Kevin and Jacob Kovach, April and Mike Friend, Lindsey, Lauren and Stephen Pruneski, Justin and Ian Friend, Miles Dunlap and Alex Graff.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Friend whom she married Dec. 3, 1951 and died June 6, 2012, sister Bernice Wilkins and brother Bud Stauffer.  Funeral services will be held on Friday March 1st, 11:00 AM at the Boardman Baptist Church.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 6-9PM at the Blackstone Funeral Home and also on Friday from 10:30-11:00 at the church.  Visit http://www.blackstonefuneralhome.com/ to view this obituary and to send condolences to the Friend family.
