Shirley M. Smith, 89, of Vienna, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 20, 2017, after a brief illness. Shirley was born January 18, 1928 in Sharon, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Clarence and Marietta (Hart) Seiple. Shirley was a member of Liberty Assembly of God Church, as wells as, in the Bell Choir and a member of the Young At Heart Group there.
She worked as a Custodian at Pleasant Valley Church for more than ten years. She spent her life devoted to helping others and enjoyed participating in church activities with friends, gardening, canning, watching soap operas, especially "The Young and The Restless", but most of all just spending time with her family.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sherry Smith of Brookfield and Linda (Jim) Prem of Florida, her brothers, Robert (Margie) Seiple of Masury and Thomas (Ida) Seiple of Pennsylvania, her six grandchildren; David A. (Dana) Smith Jr. of Cortland, Ashley (Brad) Mifsud of Hubbard, Brittany (Kyle) Coppes of Hubbard, and Jimmy, Jenna and Mazie Prem, all of Florida, and her great-grandchildren; Lillian, Violet and Scarlett Smith and Christian, Grayson and Morgan Mifsud and Hayden Coppes. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William L. Smith Jr., whom she married September 7, 1949 and died January 14, 2012, her son David A. Smith Sr. and her twin brothers, John and James Seiple . Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23rd, 12:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Shirley will be laid to rest next to her husband at Crown Hill Cemetery.
