Stanley William Hosking, 79, of Girard, passed away Wednesday April 1, 2015 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born August 14, 1935 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of the late William and Leona Weaver Hosking. He was a Army veteran in the Korean war. Stanley was a graduate of Girard High School and received his Bachelors degree in teaching at Geneva College, where he played football, then received his Masters at Westminster College. He was a school teacher for 40 years and taught at Boardman School System. He was a member of St. Rose Church, The Elks Lodge, The Mahoning Valley Car Club, and Girard Hall of Fame. He leaves to cherish his memory his companion of 25 years Carol Rickard of Girard, his children; Jill K. Hosking of West Lake, and Jeffrey S. Hosking of Columbus, Ohio, sisters; Mary Lou Pavlich of Missouri, Amy Berardo of Strongsville and Sarah (Tom) Riley of Tallmadge,and his brothers; Fred Hosking of Girard and John Walter Hosking of New Mexico. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Church preceded by prayer services at 10:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home. Family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Stanley will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery.
