Steve Donchatz, 86, of Liberty Twp., passed away on February 21, 2016 at Hospice House in Poland. Steve was born on June 6, 1929, in Hungary, the son of Imre and Tereza Donchatz, and came to the United States in 1956. Steve worked for Youngstown Steel Tank as a brake press operator for 25 years, and later worked for Hetzel Co. in Warren for 9 1/2 years until its closing. He was a member of St. Peter & Paul Church, the church's Holy Name Society and St. George Croatian Lodge #66. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and was a member of the Monday Yankee Run Golf League. Steve was always helping with many church functions including the parish bingo on Fridays nights. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former, Mary Ann Vail, whom he married July 25, 1964, his daughter, Teresa (Robert) House, of Liberty Twp., his son, Stephen (Christine) Donchatz, of Liberty Twp., and his grandchildren; Rebecca House, Alison House, Justin House, Ryan Donchatz and Sean Donchatz. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister and his brother. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26th, 10:00 AM at St. Peter and Paul Church, 421 Covington St., in Youngstown, preceded by a prayer service at 9:15 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Steve will be laid to rest at Churchill Cemetery in Liberty Twp.
