Thelma E (Mosholder) Brown

August 3, 1926 — December 21, 2013

Thelma E. Brown, 87, of Girard, passed away on Saturday December 21, 2013.  Thelma was born August 3, 1926 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Edward E. and Etta Younkin Mosholder. She worked in the accounting-billing department and retired from Western Reserve Care System.  Those who knew Thelma best realized she enjoyed living a simple life and what was most important to her was her strong faith in God which she expressed as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.  What pleased her most was being able to spend a Saturday morning in her Christian ministry with family and close friends and then making her regular stop at the Austintown Panera, where all knew her by name.  Thelma often mentioned that among her most cherished moments were these spent with her local spiritual family and especially her dear friend Martha.  She is survived by her sons,  Tony (Renee) Brown of Winter Garden, Florida, and Jeff (Becky) Brown, with whom she made her home with, sister Orpha Ashley of Austintown, brother George Mosholder of California, grandchildren Ryan (Carrie) Brown, Cory Brown, Marissa (Scott) Swinson, Bradley (Sarah) Brown, Candace Brown and Kaitlan Brown, and great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Cameron, Ethan and Bailey Brown.  She is preceded in death by her husband, James Brown, who died Jan. 12, 1981 and sister Mary Sakely.  Thelma's family, at this time, wishes to extend their deep appreciation to the Girard and surrounding police and fire departments, her spiritual family, and a compassionate community, many who were unacquainted with her, for their search efforts during this trying time. Such acts of human kindness are appreciated more than you'll know and your efforts will not go unnoticed by God.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 3:00 PM at the Mahoning Country Club, 710 E. Liberty St. in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 1-3 PM.  The family requests that no fragrances or colognes be worn to the services.  Mother rest in peace until we are united with you through Jehovah's resurrection in His righteous new world.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to express your condolences to the Brown family.
