Theresa Courtney

Theresa Courtney, 77, of Girard, passed away on Wednesday October 16, 2013 at Northside Medical Center.  Theresa was born January 15, 1936 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John and Helen Chesney Hubiack. She had worked for the Girard City Schools for 31 years as a custodian.Theresa was a member of St. Rose Church, former past-president of the Girard PTA and one of the original members and past-president of the Girard Football Mother's Club. She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Courtney, whom she married June 10, 1953, her children Donald T. (Alma) Courtney of St. Charles, Ill., Cindy (Mike) Frankford of Girard, Richard (Pam) Courtney of Girard, Lynn Royer of Youngstown, Dennis (Mary Ann) Courtney of Girard, Lori Courtney of Girard and Robert (Michelle) Courtney of Lake Milton, sisters Marie Donet of Niles and Sandra Batcho of Warren, brother John Hubiack of Frisco, Texas, seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son John Courtney. Private services will be held on Saturday at Blackstone Funeral Home.
