Thomas A Glass

Thomas A. Glass, 77, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Hospice House. Tom was born September 19, 1938 in Cresson, Pa. the son of the late Leo and Hortense Dashner Glass. Tom had worked for the Ohio Leather Works in Girard before starting his own business in 1963, Tom's Sewer and Drain, which he owned and operated for 38 years. Tom had also owned and operated Race Way 7, in Conneaut, Ohio and loved dirt track racing, and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. He loved to cruise with his wife, Ida in their 1941 Ford Convertible with their friends of the Independent Car Cruisers. Tom leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, the former, Ida J. Robison, whom he married June 25, 1960. Together they had six children; Thomas T. Glass, of Girard, Richard A. (Laura) Glass, of Clearwater , Florida, Sherry L. (Jay) Stratton, of Bluffton, Ohio, Donald L. Glass, of Girard, Michael D. (Vickie) Glass, of Girard and Tracy L. (Todd) Governor, of Mineral Ridge, Ohio, a sister Bernadette Williams and a brother, William Glass ,both of Girard, 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and John Glass and sisters, Leona Vinich, Helen Petyak and Delores Glass. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8th, 7:00 PM, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service.
