Thomas C. Smith Sr.

Thomas Carson Smith Sr., 84, of Girard, passed away on March 7, 2019, at Lake Vista in Cortland. Thomas was born June 26, 1934 in Kittaning, PA, the son of Arthur and Gertrude (Rosenberger) Smith. He had worked as a stocker for Brainard Strapping for 25 years. Thomas was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, and the William Farr Masonic Lodge. Thomas especially enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida with his wife Eunice for many years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 64 years, Eunice (Jones) Smith, whom he married May 8, 1954, his children, Deborah (Gary) Johnson of Kinsman, and Thomas (Janet) Smith Jr. of Vienna, his sister Peggy Kuratinyk of Niles, his step sister Christine Carlson of Mineral Ridge, his grandchildren, Michael Clifton and Richard Smith and his great grandchildren, Hailie Clifton, Kaylee Troyer, and Kaden Smith. Besides his parents Thomas is preceded in death by his sisters, Sally Long, and Nancy Long, and his step brother, Joe Haggerty. Funeral services will be held on March 12th, 7:00 PM, at Blackstone Funeral Home. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 until the time of service.
