Tina Maiorana, 84, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Hospice House with her family by her side. Tina was born January 16, 1929 in Canandaigua, New York, the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Teresa Galimi Ceravolo. She had worked as a key punch operator for many different offices, a dress shop during the Christmas Season and had also worked at the Airforce Base in New York for a brief period of time. She was a member of St. Rose Church and had volunteered for the Easter Seals, Cancer Society, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Muscular Dystrophy, and Committee chairperson for the voting precinct. She enjoyed getting together and playing cards with her special sisters, Betty Tondo, Lena DelBene, Barbara Dunlap and Louise Martin since the 1960's. Tina is survived by her husband, Anthony B. Maiorana, whom she married May 12, 1956, her children, Tina Marie (Keith) Brown of Girard, Stella (Greg Yurco) Maiorana of Cortland, Teresa Maiorana of Cortland, Toni Lynn (Joe) Copploe of McDonald and Anthony (Shelly) Maiorana of Evans, Georgia, brothers Joseph (Bev) Ceravolo of Canandaigua,NY, Thomas Ceravolo of Lockport, NY, Vincent Ceravolo of Rome, NY and Rocco (Mary) Ceravolo of Fairport, NY, grandchildren , Tony "Dominic" and Briana Simeone of Girard , Christopher and Hannah Simeone of Ft. Worth, TX, Matthew and Sarah Simeone of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Michael Edwards of North Hollywood, CA, Lisa Edwards of Niles, Joseph Copploe II of McDonald, Antonio Copploe of Michigan, Chloe Alexis Maiorana, Ava Olivia Maiorana and Luke Anthony Maiorana of Evans, GA, Step-grandchild Allison Brown and great-grandson Gryphon (Edwards) Hurd. She is preceded in death by her brother Santo Ceravolo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 10:30 AM at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 10:00 AM at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 7-9PM and also on Saturday from 9-10AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Girard City Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr.Robert Spratt, Dr. Amy Awaida, Dr. David Dunch, Dr. Anthony Cutrona, Dr. Eugene Potesta, Dr. Digvijay Singh, Dr. Brian Gruber, The Hope Center, St. Elizabeth NeuroScience Intensive Care Unit, SEHC Palliative Care and Hospice House for their kindness and exceptional care that was given to Tina.
