Virginia M. Altier, 99, of Girard, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Virginia was born August 5, 1918 in Girard, Ohio, the daughter of John and Mary (Vitacula) Altier. Virginia worked as an inspector for 40 years at General Electric Niles Glass Plant. She was a member of St. Rose Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her brothers, Dr. Samuel (Marilyn) Altier of Ashtabula and Jack (Martha) Altier of Girard, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Rosalyn Altier, her brother, Kenneth Altier and her special nephew Kevin Altier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 2nd, 12:00 PM at St. Rose Church. Family and friends may call on Monday from 10:30 - 11:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.
