Wanda Thompson

Wanda L. Thompson, 59, of Girard passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Wanda was born August 27, 1962 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Charles and Irma (Anderson) Colby. Wanda was a Struthers High School graduate. She received an Accounting Degree at Trumbull Business College. Wanda was a member of the Girard Eagles Women's Auxiliary and bowling leagues.

Wanda enjoyed shopping, dancing, and singing karaoke. But most of all Wanda enjoyed caring for her children. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 21 years, David Thompson, who she married March 18, 2000; her children, William and Jamie Watt, Tyler, Bryan and Aerie; step children, Christopher, David Daniel and Timothy Thompson; grandchildren David, Noah, Chris, Jayden and Callie; mother, Irma Colby of Girard; brother, Charles (John) Colby of Poland; and sister in law, Annette (Don) Missik of Lake Milton.

Wanda is preceded in death by her father, Charles E. Colby, who passed away, May 30, 2007.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 18th, 8:00 PM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 PM until the time of service.
