Wesley D. "Wes" Martin, 64, of McDonald, passed away on Thursday December 6, 2012 at Northside Hospital. Wes was born May 1, 1948 in Youngstown, the son of the late William H. and Hazel Ryan Martin. He retired in 2008 from the street department at the Village of McDonald after 20 years and was an Army Veteran during Vietman. Wes was a member of the IFH Club of Girard, The Army-Navy Garrison #360 of Liberty Twp and the Austintown Eagles Lodge. Wes loved golfing and bocce and was an avid Miami Dolphin fan and Ohio State fan. He is survived by his wife, the former Karen Walter , brothers Thomas (Mary) Martin and Richard (Lori) Martin, both of McDonald, sister Betty (Regie) Buser and half sister Carol (Mel) Hetrick, both of Girard, nephew Ryan Martin and niece Kim Portolese, sister-in-law Barbara Walter of North Canton , close friend Kim Cavnah and many great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 11th, 11:00 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
