William D Carter

William D. Carter, 65, of Girard, passed away on Thursday March 6, 2014 at Northside Medical Center.  Bill was born January 4, 1949 in Youngstown, the son of the late William H. and Anna Mae Price Carter.  Bill graduated from Poland High School in 1967 and then went on to Drafting School.  He lived his entire life in the Youngstown area where he owned and operated William D. Carter Carpet Cleaning for 35 years.  Bill and his family spent many summers at Geneva-On-The-Lake where he enjoyed water skiing.  Bill was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching football, baseball, and basketball, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his nine grandchildren.  He is survived by his 2 daughters Julie Carter of Youngstown, granddaughter Kelsi, his daughter Jill ( Ted) Kinsey of Wellsville, grandchildren Teddi, Kodi, Zane, Zeb, Zavier, Zander, Boone, and Bowie, and sister Ellie Carter and husband Larry Hane of Canfield.  Also surviving is his companion Karen Day.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his infant sister. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday March 11th, 11:00 AM, at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard.  William will be laid to rest at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
