William H Sorbes

William H. Sorbes, 82, of Girard, passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  He was born August 18, 1931 in Youngstown, Ohio , the son of the late John and Theresa Mesauto Sorbes.  He retired from Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. as a construction superintendant and later worked for Burger King in their maintenance department.  He was an Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict and a  member of St. Peter & Paul Church in Warren, Cortland Moose Lodge #1012 and the American Legion Post #0888. Bill enjoyed fishing and trips to Mountaineer.  He is survived by his wife, the former Helen Elko, whom he married in 1996, son William Sorbes, step-children Eric (Sandy) Satler of Perry, Ohio, Marilyn (Mark) Edwards of Roanoke, Virginia, Virginia (Mark) Pohlod of St. Petersburg, Florida and four grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Sorbes, step-daughter Elaine Hollander and 2 brothers.    Upon William's request there will be no services.  Visit www.blackstonefuneralhome.com to view this obituary and to send condolences to the Sorbes family.
