William J. Walker, 63, of McDonald, died Monday April 1, 2013. Bill was born January 21, 1950 in Youngstown, the son of the late William A. and Irene R. Lawlor Walker. Bill was a teacher, guidance counselor, and football coach for 35 years, retiring from McDonald High School in 2008. He graduated from McDonald High School in 1968 and received both bachelor's and master's degrees from Youngstown State University. Bill was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in McDonald. Bill enjoyed traveling, playing golf, and was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. He is survived by his wife, the former Linda Taylor, whom he married Dec. 19, 1970, his son Andrew (April) Walker and granddaughter Hannah of Pittsburgh, Pa, and brother Timothy M. Walker of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert J. Walker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday April 6, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church preceded by a prayer service at 9:30 AM at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard. Interment will follow at Girard City Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
